HEAD PROFESSIONAL
The Yellowknife Tennis Club is excited to bring back Tyler Comeau, as the Head Tennis Professional for the 2013 season.
Tyler brings an abundance of knowledge and experience to the club from his lifelong participation in tennis. He was introduced to tennis at a young age and played with his family. As a junior player he quickly rose to the top of his age group in the Northwest Territories. He then went on to play in the 2007 Western Canada Summer Games, along with the 2009 Canada Summer Games. Tyler has played in a variety of tournaments offered throughout the Northwest Territories as well as a few other ones located in British Columbia, Alberta, and Prince Edward Island.
Tyler is a qualified coach, by Tennis Canada as a level 1 (instructor). In the past year, he was the main instructor for the Yellowknife Tennis Clubs Multi Sport Camp which was considered to be a great success. Originally from Edmonton, he is able to bring a young, fresh mentality to club and its players which will be able to keep it up and running for many years to come. In the near future, Tyler is looking to upgrade his certification level to help further benefit tennis in the north.
Tyler looks forward to meeting the current members and any other tennis enthusiasts in the community. He will be running club programs and events for the members so please direct any questions or ideas to him. Keep your eyes and ears open for future dates! Also, private lessons will be available throughout the season provided by the Head Professional. Here's to a successful season as well as hopefully inspiring a new generation of tennis players in Yellowknife and the surrounding communities.
